forum issue and work computer issues

I have two problems.

I went to this forum to the antivirus/software forum and there is no tap to post new topic! I could not post there. I am prolly just a dweeb cause G could not have possibly forgot to put one in... lol.

But my main post was to be this...

My work computer is F-dup
I managed to get a virus/malware/crappy overtaker thingy called sysguard i think.
I decided to just restore to previous point (I have many restore points and it is turned on...) and it lets me open it and click what day and then when I click next...nothing happens. it never gets past that point. I can click back or cancel and they work but next does nothing. I cannot log onto the internet - explorer completely freezes. I went into msconfig and stopped the process from running. That worked but explorer still freezes white screen at connecting and I have to hard boot then. Any Ideas? I have tried safemode then restore and that does the same thing.

Hey dzacesn8s I wanted to check in with you and see how your machine is doing now after I connected to it yesterday and cleaned it.

Here are the steps that I took to clean your machine.
  • 1. Stopped process sysguard.exe
    2. Deleted sysguard.exe from C:\windows\sysguard.exe
    3. Installed malwarebytes ( http://www.malwarebytes.org )
    4. Deleted iehelper.dll so your webpages would stop going to malicious site.
    5. Renamed the program name for malwarebytes since the malicious program was preventing it from running ( C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe rename to anything C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\runme.exe )
    6. Installed Kaspersky Virus Protection to help prevent this issue next time. ( This is a trial copy good for 30 days. If you like the program check http://www.itlan.net/Hot-Deals/ to get a link and coupon code to purchase. )
    7. Renamed C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\runme.exe back to C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

I have to agree malwarebytes is a great free adware/malware removal program. What other programs do not detect malwarebytes does and another thing is that it isnt heavy so limited resources are actually being used on your system.

Kaspersky's Standout Features 8-)

•Highly Effective antivirus/antispyware protection
•Light on computer resources
•Nearly all features are configurable
•Great interface, easy-to-use and intuitive

thanks...
